Welcome to the 7th Central European Symposium on Nephrology

We are pleased to invite you to the 7th Central European Symposium on Nephrology and the 11th Czech-Austrian Symposium on Nephrology, which will take place in Vienna, Austria, from December 12–13, 2025. The meeting will be held under the auspices of the Austrian and Czech Societies of Nephrology, as well as the Austrian Society of Transplantation, Transfusion, and Genetics.

Established in 2011, this symposium series has fostered collaboration and knowledge exchange in clinical nephrology, kidney transplantation, and translational science between teams from different European countries. Notably, the Czech-Austrian kidney paired donation program—the first European cross-border kidney exchange from living donors—originated from discussions at these symposia. Likewise, the implementation of the Molecular Microscope platform for routine assessment of complex transplant biopsies and several other innovations in the field were inspired by insights gained here.

As with previous meetings, we have worked diligently to create an exciting and inspiring scientific program featuring high-level interdisciplinary lectures that highlight the latest research advances in nephrology and transplantation. Building on the great success of past events, we aim to bring together leading national and international experts and key opinion leaders, who will present cutting-edge topics and state-of-the-art insights. The unique setting of our meeting venue will provide an ideal atmosphere for stimulating scientific dialogue and collaboration.

We hope this symposium will serve as a dynamic platform for exchanging knowledge and strengthening connections among professionals from across Europe. The event is open to all those interested in the latest trends and advancements in nephrology and transplantation.
